1963
First American Fireworks was founded
- Our founder, Mark Stratton, was just 18 years old when he started buying and selling fireworks at roadside tents in the Washington, D.C. area. He partnered with TNT Fireworks, the largest national brand in chain stores. After selling the D.C. branch in 1988, Mark relocated to Florida, where he continued growing the business. His vision and dedication laid the groundwork for the thriving operation we are today.
1999
Expansion & Growth
- David Hostetler got his first summer job at a fireworks tent and quickly developed a passion for the industry. By 2004, Dave was working summers for Mark and transitioned to full-time in 2006. At that time, the business expanded beyond Fourth of July celebrations to include New Year’s festivities.
2016
New Ownership
- Hostetler and his wife Morgan bought First American Fireworks and grew its operations year by year.
